ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’ guest picker announced for Tuscaloosa, will represent … Vanderbilt?

ESPN’s “College GameDay” announced Thursday the popular college football pregame show will be joined by comedian Nate Bargatze as the celebrity picker.

“GameDay” will be live from Tuscaloosa on Saturday morning ahead of Alabama’s crucial SEC West showdown with LSU.

Bargatze also announced the news he will be the Week 10 guest picker. While not an Alabama nor a Tigers fan, Bargatze said he will be “representing Vanderbilt on the desk.”

Bargatze, who is an American comedian known for his various stand-up specials including his most recent Amazon Original special Nate Bargatze: Hello World, is just coming off hosting “Saturday Night Live” last week.

He’ll join Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Kirk Herbstreit on the panel. Last week, “GameDay” was without Lee Corso, who missed the broadcast due to a family issue. It is assumed at this point Corso will be on the broadcast.

Meanwhile, Alabama-LSU not only has SEC implications but College Football Playoff ones, too. Quarterback Jayden Daniels is set to lead LSU and the nation’s top offense against Jalen Milroe and Alabama. The eighth-ranked Crimson Tide host the 13th-ranked Tigers on Saturday night. Both teams have been on hot streaks after shaky starts, though they’ve done it in different ways.

LSU is averaging more than 47 points a game while Alabama has one of the SEC’s best defenses.

The winner has emerged as the SEC West champion in 10 of the past 12 years.
